:The weapon i have is Airplanes so airplanes are used to throw bombs down out of the sky an were also used for reconnaissance missions, As spotters, and to drive other spotters, including balloonists away.
:1903 is when the first airplane was invented for ww1. The wright brothers were the ones who invented the airplane. The airplane was invented for reconnaissance so that the airplanes could fly above the battlefield and determine the enemy's movements and position. Also they were used for bombings to drop bombs on strategic enemy locations. |
Impact and consequences
:The overall impact of airplanes on ww1 is bombing and reconnaissance .Both of these impacts were both major in ww1 cause bombing killed people as soon as it got close to them an reconnaissance was were you could fly in the plane and see what's all going on and sometimes took pictures of what's happening on the battlefield.
:The airplanes would just have to get low to the battlefield and see where they are bombing or shooting at to try not to kill the soldiers and other people on there side. Also what side they are at on the battlefield.
Positive an Negative things:
Positive- Was the ability aircraft provided to see what the other side was up to.
Positive- Aerial photography
Negative-Was a brand new untested technology. They were untested so that many of the combat aircraft were denoted as "experimental". Crews often had no idea of how much Gas their aircraft could take-until they literally came apart.
Negative- Were flimsy, unreliable, and were able to have breakdowns, even in mid-air. There were few if any, Many engines used castor oil as a lubricant, which was expelled in copious quantities through the valve system on top of the engine.

Connections to Today
:Airplanes in ww1 were very fragile and were limited in their speed, range and maneuverability. Made mostly of hardwood and canvas. Also they could go to 100-130 mph.
:Airplanes now are made out of aluminum and carbon fiber and other composite materials. Airplanes now are held together by bolts, rivets, screws, glue an all kinds of other stuff. Also airplanes now can go to a speed of 550-600 mph.
:Airplanes that were used in ww1 were used to drop bombs an to see whats going on on the other side of the battlefield. Also in ww1 unprofessional piolets drove there planes like they knew what they were doing but didn't know everything about the plane. :Airplanes used today are to transport people from one state to another. Today Professional an trained piolets drive our airplanes around state to state.
